CAPTCHAs are commonly used in online communities as a way to prevent Sybils and ensure legitimacy with humans only. Guild CAPTCHA comes in two forms:

  • CAPTCHA as Guild requirement: Serves as a simple Guild requirement that can only be completed on Guild pages. It can be tailored to fit specific needs by setting expiry periods and combining with other requirements.

  • CAPTCHA on Discord: Extra layer of verification activated by clicking the embedded join button on Discord. This type is independent of any Guild requirement.

Learn how to set both CAPTCHA by following our guide below.

CAPTCHA as Guild requirement

1. Navigate to your Guild and create a new role or edit an existing one

Access your Guild directly through its URL or from the Guildhall, showing only non-hidden Guilds. If you don't have a Guild yet, click to create.

2. Click 'Add requirement' and select 'CAPTCHA'

Find at the general requirements listed above the integrations. Combine with other requirements and logic gates for more complexity.

3. Set CAPTCHA age

Set maximum age for valid completed CAPTCHA. Choose from day, month or year.

4. Your CAPTCHA role is added to your Guild

Congrats on your new role with CAPTCHA requirement! Edit, and export members anytime.

CAPTCHA on Discord

1. Navigate to your Guild and click '...' at your Discord reward

Access your Guild directly through its URL or from the Guildhall, showing only non-hidden Guilds. If you don't have a Guild yet, click to create.

2. Enable Discord CAPTCHA

Join button required on your server. Learn how to send join buttons to Discord.

3. Your CAPTCHA is activated on Discord

Congrats on your new Discord authentication with Guild! Your server members will need to complete a CAPTCHA before joining your Guild.
